Quick Add for Tasks (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a native macOS application designed to help users quickly add tasks to their Google Tasks account. We believe in privacy by design.
Unlike many other productivity tools, we do not have a backend server. We do not store, sell, or analyze your personal data. Your data lives on your device and within Google's secure ecosystem.
1. Data Collection & Usage
We only access data necessary to perform the App's core functionality:
- Google Tasks Data: We access your Task Lists and Tasks to allow you to create new items. We do not read your existing tasks unless required to determine which list to add a new task to (e.g., matching a list name).
- OAuth Tokens: To authenticate with Google, we store a secure access token on your device. This token is stored securely in the macOS Keychain. It is never sent to us or any third-party server.
2. Data Storage
- No Remote Server: We do not operate a database. We have no way to view your tasks, notes, or calendar details.
- Local Storage: Any temporary data (like your preferences or last used list) is stored locally on your Mac using standard Apple sandboxing (UserDefaults).
3. Google API Services Policy
Limited Use Disclosure
Quick Add for Tasks's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not use Google user data for developing, improving, or training generalized AI and/or ML models.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google: The App communicates directly with Google's API to manage your tasks. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle your data.
5. User Rights
GDPR & CCPA
Since we do not store your data, we cannot “delete” it because we never had it.
- Revoking Access: You can disconnect Quick Add for Tasks from your Google Account at any time by visiting Google's Security Settings.
- Data Deletion: Deleting the App from your Mac removes all local data and tokens immediately.
